World Cup Predictions: Gerard Deulofeu

With World Cup 2018 just around the corner, the Golden Boys give their tournament predictions to watfordfc.com.

Who do you think will win?

I think there are three or four teams with a lot of possibilities to win. For me, Spain is the most important country and I hope they win. But after them there are Brazil, France, Germany – so many strong teams, so let’s see what happens.

Deulofeu won't rule out a World Cup win for his home country this summer

Who will win the Golden Boot?

In the World Cup it will be the best players, so Neymar, Cristiano [Ronaldo], Messi. For me, it will be Cristiano, Messi or any German player - they are all amazing.

Deulofeu played alongside Messi in his two spells at FC Barcelona

Who will win the Golden Ball?

Let’s see what happens because it depends on who arrives to the semi-final or the final. If Spain get there, maybe the best player will be Spanish!

Spain have never had a player win the World Cup Golden Ball - the last man to come closest was David Villa, in 2010

Which country could be the surprise package?

There are too many strong teams. Belgium are not a surprise because they are an amazing team, but Belgium, and South American teams. I have a feeling that one of these teams will be in the semi-final or the final.

Another former teammate at Barcelona, Suarez is part of a strike-force which could see Uruguay progress to the latter stages
