The Hornets need you!

fanActiv is the ultimate clash of London football clubs as fans compete for bragging rights in a series of physical activity challenges, and through use of a digital platform encourage their rivals to keep up.

Turning the inherent rivalry between football fans into healthy competition, the programme gets males aged 30+ moving more through weekly physical activities, fan challenges in the community and health messaging at participating clubs’ grounds.

The programme, starting next Thursday (Feb 23), is a FREE 12-week physical activity programme, with all sessions taking place at Watford FC Trust facility Cedars Community Centre in Harrow.

Fans meet weekly for a 2 hour session consisting of a health talk followed by a sports based exercise session. fanActiv is running across 9 London clubs including Tottenham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Fulham.

The Trust have space for 20 men, who will all receive a Fitbit and attend sessions 7-9pm each week. Fans from each club will form a ‘team’ and teams will compete against teams from other clubs on Fitbit data such as calories and steps achieved.

fanActiv is proudly supported by: the NHS, Healthy London Partnership, the Prevention Board, Fibit UK/Ireland, Deloitte Digital, Salesforce, Public Health England, Men’s Health Forum, British Cycling, Badminton England and Parkrun.

If you would to take part and get active for Watford FC, please contact the project coordinator Andy Garlick (Andrew.garlick@watfordfc.com / 01923 496391).
