Head Coach assesses first pre-season friendly

Reaction | Silva On Dons Defeat

Head Coach Marco Silva said the most important aspect of Saturday’s pre-season friendly at AFC Wimbledon was the chance to run the rule over his new charges ahead of the new campaign.

“Of course we expect a different result. For me, in a friendly match always it is important to win, but the most important of course is not the result but to start to see our model, to start to analyse our players because we need to take decisions as well.”

The Hornets head to Austria on Monday for a training camp and two matches against European opposition and Silva is looking forward to a week of hard work with his players.

“Now is the moment to start to input more our model, our main principles in our squad, to pass more time in our tactical work and to start to see better things in the match.”
